PNG compresses without discarding any detail, and supports a full alpha channel for transparency. It is normally used for logos, icons, screenshots and any image with sharp edges or transparency. Lossless compression means photographs come out considerably larger than the same image as JPEG.

Does converting WebP to PNG reduce quality?
PNG discards nothing, so no further detail is lost. It cannot recover what WebP compression already removed, though, and the resulting file will normally be larger than the original.
How big a file can I convert?
Files can be up to 25 MB. That is generous for this format - if a file is larger than that it is usually because of embedded images, and compressing those before converting normally brings it well under the limit.
