Does converting PNG to JPEG reduce quality?
PNG keeps all of its detail, and JPEG does not, so the conversion discards some. For photographs the difference is usually hard to see; for sharp edges, text or line art it can be visible.
How big a file can I convert?
Files can be up to 25 MB. That is generous for this format - if a file is larger than that it is usually because of embedded images, and compressing those before converting normally brings it well under the limit.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPEG has no transparency, so transparent pixels are composited onto a white background rather than turning black. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG instead.
