Convert PDF to PNG
PDF fixes a document's layout so it looks the same wherever it is opened, which is why it is the usual format for anything final. Converting it to PNG gives you a file suited to logos, icons, screenshots and any image with sharp edges or transparency.

About PDF
PDF fixes a document's layout so it looks the same wherever it is opened, which is why it is the usual format for anything final. It is normally used for contracts, invoices, reports, forms and anything meant to be printed or archived. A PDF is designed to be read rather than edited, so changing the text after the fact is awkward.
About PNG
PNG compresses without discarding any detail, and supports a full alpha channel for transparency. It is normally used for logos, icons, screenshots and any image with sharp edges or transparency. Lossless compression means photographs come out considerably larger than the same image as JPEG.
What to expect
- A single-page PDF returns one image; a multi-page PDF returns a ZIP with one image per page.
- Up to 50 pages.
- Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
What happens to your file
Your file is uploaded to FilesMagic's own conversion servers over an encrypted connection, converted there, and deleted as soon as the download has been sent. We do not keep copies, and we do not log file names or file contents.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
Yes. Converting this format needs software that cannot run in a browser, so the file is uploaded to FilesMagic's own servers, converted, and deleted once your download has been sent.
Does converting PDF to PNG reduce quality?
Neither format discards detail, so the image data survives the conversion intact. Only the file size changes.
How big a file can I convert?
Files can be up to 25 MB, and documents of up to 50 pages. The page limit matters more than the file size here, because every page has to be rendered as its own image.
Why did I get a ZIP file?
Each page becomes a separate PNG image. One page comes back as a single image; more than one comes back as a ZIP containing them all, numbered in page order.
