About the formats
About AAC

MP3 compresses audio by discarding sound the ear is least likely to notice, and plays essentially everywhere. It is normally used for music, podcasts and voice recordings. Compression is lossy, so audio detail removed on encoding cannot be recovered.
What to expect

- The video track is discarded; only audio is kept.
- MP3 is a lossy format, so some audio detail is lost.
What happens to your file
Your file is uploaded to FilesMagic's own conversion servers over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and converted there in a temporary workspace, which is removed once processing completes. We do not keep copies, and we do not log file names or file contents.
